Service Officers Help Vets Navigate VA System

Apr 10, 2013

Alaska veterans can get assistance with questions and filing claims from 17 veteran service officers under contract with the Alaska VA.

Veteran service officers have made stops in Dillingham in past weeks, giving one-on-one counseling to local vets on how to navigate the often complicated VA system. The DAV, VFW, American Legion, and Military Order of the Purple Heart all have service officers, who are trained and certified to assist and advocate for veterans.
