Project Healing Waters Brings Together Veterans and Active Duty Soldiers For Fishing Retreat

4 female veterans and active duty soldiers spent the weekend fishing on the Naknek river.  The weather was gorgeous, the fish were biting, and the company was unmatched… all in all, a textbook weekend for the Project Healing Waters retreat.

Through the program, the fishing community and veterans organizations seek to thank those who’ve served. It’s also an attempt to give injured veterans a small boost in their long recovery.   KDLG’s Ben Matheson was on the water and filed this story:
