Police were unable to identify the body, which will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's office in Anchorage for autopsy and identification.
A subsistence fishermen on Kanakanak beach spotted a dead body floating in the water Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m. Dillingham police responded to the report and recovered the body.
Few details are available at this point. Due to the state of decomposition, the body was not immediately identifiable. Police sent the body the State Medical Examiner’s office in Anchorage for autopsy and identification.
