Anchorage man in critical condition after self-inflicted gunshot wound Friday in Naknek

KDLG: Early Friday morning, the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department responded to a report of a shooting on a vessel at the Leader Creek boatyard in Naknek.

Randolph Galeshoff, 25, from Anchorage was wounded, but not killed, by what police called a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. Police believe alcohol was a factor, but did not release further details on whether the shooting was intentional or an accident.

Galeshoff was medevaced to Anchorage, where he was reported to be in "critical" condition Friday afternoon at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage.

Galeshoff was found aboard the F/V Kristy.
