Aleknagik's new bridge access christened with first DUI

KDLG:  State troopers have reported what appears to be the first occurrence of a DUI in Aleknagik made possible by the new Wood River Bridge.

Phillip Larson, 42, of Dillingham was arrested Sunday afternoon, after troopers received a tip of dangerous driving in North Shore Aleknagik.

Larson’s blood alcohol level was .242 percent, more than three times the legal limit to be driving. Additionally, he has prior DUI convictions and was operating without a license and without an ignition interlock device.
