A new review by the State of Alaska indicates that the cost of individual health insurances plans purchased through the “Affordable Care Act” will soon go up. KDLG’s Luke Brummer has more.

Earlier this month Alaska Governor Sean Parnell decided against allowing a federally funded expansion of Medicaid in Alaska. Such an expansion could have allowed thousands of residents to participate in the program. As KDLG’s Mike Mason reports, the Governor’s decision is disappointing to the State Representative that represents much of the Bristol Bay region.

An umbrella organization that represents 36 Alaska commercial fishing organizations is working to help fishermen work through the complicated process of meeting the “Individual Mandate” requirement of the “Affordable Care Act”. KDLG’s Mike Mason has the details.

Congressman Don Young Votes to Delay "Obamacare"

Congressman Don Young has chosen to vote with his Republican colleagues in the House of Representatives to delay implementation of the “Affordable Care Act”. Young voted for a continuing resolution on Sunday that seeks to fund the federal government through mid-December. However, the resolution doesn’t seem to have the support of the majority in the U.S. Senate because it includes a one-year delay in the “Affordable Care Act”.
