Alaska has seen a spike of reported cases of flu since the beginning of September, reports the State of Alaska Section of Epidemiology.

The Alaska Senate unanimously approved a bill late last week intended to increase access to vaccinations in Alaska. KDLG’s Mike Mason has the details.

The State of Alaska is waiving a fee for a flu shot in an effort to get more people immunized. Through December 28th the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services has recorded 242 cases of the flu in Alaska that were confirmed by laboratory testing.
