Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development

Alaska’s unemployment rate remained steady in September at 6.8-percent according to the latest data released on Friday. That’s unchanged from the rate recorded back in August. Alaska’s rate is well above the national unemployment rate, which stood at 5.9-percent in August.

The Board of Directors for the Bristol Bay Native Corporation has voted to oppose Ballot Measure 2 to legalize the use and sale of marijuana in Alaska for anyone over the age of 21. The Board voted on the matter on October 3rd.
