Bristol Bay Forever

The final public hearing on the Bristol Bay Forever Initiative will be held Thursday in Dillingham. The initiative will be in front of Alaska voters next month in the form of Ballot Measure 4. KDLG’s Mike Mason listened in on the hearing held Tuesday in Fairbanks for this report.

A legal challenge has failed against a ballot measure that would make it more difficult to approve metallic sulfide mines in the Bristol Bay region.  KDLG’s Chase Cavanaugh has more.

Alaska’s Lieutenant Governor has certified the “Bristol Bay Forever” initiative petition, which means it will be placed in front of voters in August of next year. KDLG’s Mike Mason has the story.
