Woman raped in HUD housing Saturday night, say police

Andrew Suskuk, Jr., 34, booked on first degree sexual assault charge after alleged rape of passed out woman in Dillingham late Saturday.

KDLG: Dillingham police report a woman was raped Saturday night at a home on Kokwok Circle, and the 34-year-old suspect was arrested shortly after the alleged incident.

Following a brief investigation, police found Andrew Suskuk, Jr., at the Sea Inn bar drinking a beer. He was charged with first degree sexual assault, and violating the conditions of his release in a prior case for drinking alcohol. Suskuk's blood alcohol content was .215 percent at the time of arrest, say police.

DPD was notified of the sexual assault a little past midnight. A friend of the victim called police, after the victim text messaged her to say she had just been raped.

Police spoke with the victim, who said she had passed out after drinking R&R whiskey. She woke up to find a man was on top of her, and realized she was being raped.

The victim told police no consent had been given, nor had she and Suskuk had sex before. She was taken to the hospital for a SART exam.

Within about an hour, police found Suskuk at the bar, beer in hand, and took him into custody. At his Monday arraignment, he was ordered held on $50,000 and will need a third-party custodian to monitor his release.

Suskuk has a lengthy record of run-ins with the law. As an adult, he's been charged in more than a dozen misdemeanor cases and three other felony cases, dating to 1999.

If convicted of a first degree sexual assault charge, an unclassified felony, Suskuk faces a presumptive range of 13-20 years, and a maximum of 99 years, in jail.
