Troopers name fisherman who died Wednesday near Dillingham

Timothy Toro, 34, died after sending a distress call at about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Dillingham area, according to the Alaska State Troopers.

June 25, 2018, update:

Timothy Toro, 34, was working on the F/V Patience, and he died on Wednesday, June 20. Few details are available. Troopers said when the F/V Patience put out a distress call to the United States Coast Guard, Toro was said to be "suffering from a medical condition."

The State Medical Examiner’s office has not yet released a cause of death. An AST investigation into the situation is ongoing, and troopers still do not suspect foul play.

June 21, 2018:

The United States Coast Guard recieved the distress call and the fisherman was transported to Kanakanak Hospital, where he was declared dead. His name is being withheld until his next of kin are notified, dispatch said. 

The investigation is ongoing, and no foul play is suspected at this time. Troopers could only say it was a medical emergency.
