Alaska is synonymous with seafood and this month is National Seafood Month. The seafood marketing arm of the State of Alaska is hoping seafood lovers will help celebrate by snapping a picture. Tyson Fick is a spokesman for the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.
“Show us your Alaska seafood. You go on Instagram and tag your photo with #alaskaseafood and @alaskaseafood. That’s the ASMI Instagram handle.”
The “Show Us Your Alaska Seafood” Instagram photo contest is open to everyone and there are prizes. Fick says all of the submissions will be displayed and he’s hoping people will add some details about what kind of seafood is used, the different ingredients, and preparation techniques. The contest opened at the beginning of the month and Fick says so far there have been about 100-photo submissions. The contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers and the deadline to enter is October 28th. The winner will be announced in early November.
