Robert D. Martin In Custody For Meth, Cocaine Shipment to Naknek

Following a ten month investigation, Anchorage WAANT says Martin is on the hook for 30.8 grams of meth and 39.3 grams of cocaine shipped to Naknek.

DILLINGHAM:    The Anchorage office of the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team has made an arrest following an investigation into a large shipment of crystal meth and cocaine that was bound for Naknek / King Salmon last November.

Robert D. Martin, 27, of Naknek is in custody, picked up by the Bristol Bay Borough Police in conjunction with Anchorage WAANT on Sept. 17. Martin is facing two drug related felony charges, and is being held on $10,000 bail.

The arrest is good news for many residents of the Bristol Bay Borough, some of whom have said they’ll take matters into their own hands if law enforcement and the local Assembly don’t do something about the drug problem in the borough. KDLG’s Dave Bendinger has more:
