OPEN: Togiak herring meets threshold, fleet can fish at 8pm Monday

Seine fleet open for 74 hours, and gill netters open until further notice, after Fish and Game documented at least 35,000 tons of herring.

Alaska’s largest herring fishery opened Monday at 8pm, after Fish and Game staff documented a threshold biomass of herring around Togiak. KDLG’s Dave Bendinger has more:
