Dillingham tops Wrist Carry at NYO

Dillingham's Sadie Tuckwood and Justin Dye won the wrist carry on the first day of the statewide Native  Youth Olympics competition.

Among the 50 teams competing at the statewide Native Youth Olympics competition in Anchorage are several from the Bristol Bay region: Dillingham, Bristol Bay Borough, and schools from both the Lake and Peninsula Borough and Southwest Region School district.

The competition began Thursday, and Dillingham Sadie Tuckwood and Justin Dye won the wrist carry in the second event of the day. Dillingham's Sidney Dray took third in kneel jump and Britney Dray took third in Alaskan High Kick.

Dillingham student broadcasters have a live-stream of the statewide Native Youth Olympics competition, which is occurring in Anchorage.

  The action continues Friday and Saturday, and a group of Dillingham students are providing a live-stream of it all online. They also have a Facebook page with photos and other updates, and the organizers have results online, and a schedule of events.
