Dillingham Police: click it, or ticket

Department will participate in the state's increased seatbelt enforcement effort over Thanksgiving weekend.

DILLINGHAM:  Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Dillingham police officers will be increasing their enforcement of seatbelt violations, known nationally as "Click It or Ticket."

Penalties for failing to wear a seatbelt are $15 payable at the Dillingham court or as a donation to the Dillingham Volunteer Fire and EMS department, and $60 for failing to properly secure children in appropriate safety devices.

Chief Dan Pasquariello says he hopes drivers and occupants comply with seatbelt laws "because they are mandatory, but more importantly, because they help prevent injuries to the motoring public."
