Bristol Bay Fishermen File Civil Suit, Citing Damages From Sunken F/V Lone Star

KDLG

So far, 20 plaintiffs have signed on to the lawsuit, saying they have not been paid for lost income after an oil sheen from the Lone Star shut down their fishing.

A group of Bristol Bay fishermen have filed suit against Trident Seafoods, Magone Marine Services, the Resolve Marine Group, and the captain and crew of the F/V Lone Star, which sank late on June 30th in the Igushik River.

The resulting oil spill shut down the salmon fishery in the river, costing most Igushik Beach setnetters their season. They say they have still not been paid for their lost income and other damages done during the vessel's salvage and recovery.
