BOF Bristol Bay Day 3 Recap

KDLG

KDLG's Dave Bendinger and Molly Dischner are joined by Mitch Seybert and Susie Jenkins-Brito to discuss day 3 at the Board of Fish.

Day 3: The Board voted to require drift net fishermen to drop a blue card before fishing, ending the east side districts' "free week" fishing.  The seven members chose to keep the 48 hour transfer time in place for drifters Bay-wide, and for set-netters in the Nushagak. The Board also closed a loophole that had allowed some drifters to transfer into Togiak before July 27, declined to create new general districts, and agreed with ADF&G that GPS lat/long coordinates should be used in place of the old regulatory markers for district boundaries. -----> We break it all down and preview Day 4 with our guests ... listen below.

Catch our daily recap conversations on AM670 at 6:30 p.m., after Alaska News Nightly.
