KYUK:  The body of Sally Stone, 27, appears to have been found on the Kuskokwim River, not far from where she and two others entered the river last December.

Stone, of Akiak, and two men died when a 4-wheeler they were traveling on went into an open hole near Kwethluk. Stone's remains where found Sunday by local volunteers. Her body was recovered has been sent for an autopsy.

Stone was traveling with Ralph Demantle, 51, and George Evan, 26, from Bethel to Akiak through a December snowstorm. The vehicle went into an open lead in the ice. Troopers say alcohol was a factor in the deaths.

Demantle’s body was recovered in December, and searchers found Evan in January.
