Boaters hit rock on Agulowak River, spend night stranded on Lake Aleknagik

KDLG:  A Sunday outing on Lake Aleknagik went awry, leaving two men stranded for the night. State troopers say they took a report late Monday morning that Tim Hutton and Justin Seiberg had not returned on time and had not been heard from since they left Aleknagik by boat Sunday afternoon.

Troopers flew the lake and a search-and-rescue boat left from Aleknagik to search by water Monday afternoon. The men and their boat were located near the mouth of the Agulowak River. Apparently the boat was damaged after it hit rocks on the river.

The two men were in good health, and caught a ride back to Aleknagik in the SAR boat.
