Another Stolen Snowmachine Found and Returned, Charges Dropped

DILLINGHAM: Another snowmachine was reported stolen this week, but was located and returned the same day with no charges filed, according to Dillingham police.

On Tuesday, a Dillingham man reported that a snowmachine he had purchased from an Aleknagik man for $900 a few days earlier was missing from outside his residence.

Police later saw the machine in the back of a pickup truck, and posed some questions to those in the truck. They said the snowmachine belonged to a woman in Aleknagik who did not know her son had driven it to Dillingham and sold it to someone else.

Police were able to clear things up between the parties. The Aleknagik family chose to honor the sale, and both parties dropped any charges.
