Another Coast Guard Medevac in the Bering Sea

The U.S. Coast Guard’s forward deployed Jayhawk helicopter crew in Cold Bay successfully medevac’d an injured crewman from a vessel in the Bering Sea Sunday morning. The 30-year old crewman aboard the 680-foot processing vessel Ocean Phoenix suffered an eye injury and needed medical attention. The forward deployed Jayhawk helicopter crew successfully medevac’d the crewman to Cold Bay where he received medical attention before being taken to Anchorage via a commercial flight. It’s the 3rd time in recent days the Jayhawk crew had to medevac someone from the Bering Sea.
