Anchorage WAANT intercepts booze, pot bound for Nondalton

Tiffany Alexie, 30, arrested on drug and importation charges after allegedly attempting to fly with whiskey and marijuana.

Correction (1/15/15): Nondalton is not a "dry" village as originally reported, but a "damp" community, per a 1986 village vote.

Investigators with the Anchorage office of the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team intercepted 24 bottles of R&R whiskey and more than 120 grams of marijuana allegedly bound for the damp village of Nondalton.

Troopers made the bust at a local air carrier in Anchorage Friday afternoon.

The contraband was in the possession of Tiffany Alexie, 30, of Nondalton, according to troopers. Alexie was charged with a class C felony drug charge based on the amount of marijuana, and a class A misdemeanor charge related to the importation of alcohol.
