After more than a decade at $25, the popular online retailer is bumping its minimum purchase for free shipping to $35.
If you've ever questioned the popularity of Amazon.com with folks in our area, take a short spin through the back of the Dillingham post office. That too-familiar amazon swoosh is everywhere.
The retailer announced this weekthat it is raising the "FREE Super Saving Shipping" to $35. That's up ten bucks from the $25 threshold that had been in place for more than a decade.
Some speculators are suggesting that Amazon is having some trouble in the earnings category, while others think this is a move to entice more shoppers to sign up for Amazon Prime. For $79 a year, the Prime service offers free 2-day shipping on all purchases, as well as free access a trove of digital content.
Just in time for the holidays.
