Alaska Attorney General Discusses Jerry Active Case History

Says State made some mistakes that may have led to Active spending less time in prison than the law required.

DILLINGHAM:   Alaska’s Attorney General Michael Geraghty held a press conference Friday to discuss the prior case history of Jerry Andrew Active, who is charged with the grisly murder of an elderly Anchorage couple and the rape of their 2-year old great-granddaughter. It’s alleged that Active committed these horrific acts on the same day he was released from prison for one of several other crimes he has committed in his young life. As KDLG’s Dave Bendinger reports, to the question of why Active was out of jail at all, the Attorney General admits there were some mistakes made in the handling of his cases.
