"Know the Facts" about the Proposed Dillingham School Bond.

On December 18, 2007 a Special Election will be held to decide o­n a Schools Renovation, GO Bond, and Debt Reimbursement Package.

 

The proposition provides a little over $15 million for the purpose of financing the cost of design, renovation, and major maintenance of DCSD educational facilities.

 

If the GO Bond passes, projects authorized by voters by November 1, 2008, are eligible for 70% reimbursement from the State of Alaska.  The City of Dillingham and School District expect to finance the remaining 30% share of the debt with joint appropriations.  This means neither property nor sales tax will be increased to repay the 30% share of the debt.
