KDLG has made a few updates to its web services.  Here’s what’s been happening:

  1. 1.  Streaming service changes – The streaming service has been altered a little bit.  To accommodate extra users during Open Line we have increased the amount of users allowed from 15 to 30.  We haven’t maxed out at the limit of 30 users yet so let your friends and family abroad know they can tune into KDLG on-line.  We have also decreased the quality a little bit to help stabilize the streaming signal.   For a while we were streaming at 48kbps, which sounded quite good but now we are at a slightly reduced rate of 32kbps which still sounds good but is noticeably degraded.  We are working on providing a higher quality sound but this may require the purchase of more equipment and changing the streaming format we use.

  1. 2.  Downloadable Content – KDLG is now offering locally produced programs for download.  As of 02/11/08 Open Line, Our Story, Bristol Bay Field Notes and other programs will be available to members of kdlg.org.  Membership requires a $30 donation or more for access to all our downloadable content for one year.

We hope you enjoy all our added features to kdlg.org and please remember to tell your friends and family abroad about the streaming service.
