In front of family and friends, thirteen seniors of the class of 2013 crossed the stage and took "the first step" towards future endeavors.

UAF Bristol Bay Campus

The annual "Salmon Camp" in Bristol Bay has been scheduled for July 24th through the 30th on the shores of Lake Aleknagik. "Salmon Camp" is sponsored by the Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation and the UAF Bristol bay campus in Dillingham with assistance from NOAA and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

A well-known researcher with the University of Alaska Fairbanks has retired after 30-year. Chuck Crapo came to the University in 1983 after working in the seafood processing industry.

The Board of Education for the Dillingham City School District passed a budget for the next school year during their meeting Monday night. This comes as there are still questions about the level of funding the District will receive from both the State and Federal governments. KDLG's Mike Mason has the story.

Dillingham Schools Test Lockdown

This week, the Dillingham City School District is testing procedures for locking down a school in the event that someone enters the school with a weapon, similar to what happened in Newtown, Connecticut last December.  KDLG's Dave Bendinger has more:
