KDLG: On Wednesday night an Aleknagik resident called state troopers when she got home and found someone had kicked in two doors to get inside her home and steal alcohol.

The homeowner began her own investigation and tracked down some suspects nearby, finding one of them passed out drunk.

A state trooper from Dillingham responded. A 29-year-old was arrested on charges of burglary, theft, and criminal mischief, but the case was dropped by the district attorney at arraignment Thursday morning.

Mike Branson, 68, needed assistance after becoming ill working on his property, according to AST, which responded Thursday. He declined medical attention and was taken back to his cabin.

NEA says Donna Vukich charged personal expenses in excess of $970,000 over 12 years, hiding the spending with clever accounting and no oversight. A criminal investigation is also underway.

Clayton W. Gottschalk, 47, has a lengthy history of drinking and driving, dating to charges in the early 1990s. Borough police arrested him March 23 after allegedly trying to steal a vehicle from a Naknek home.

Judge Reigh did not find sufficient evidence of stalking involving two post office employees and Ekwok resident David McNease, who is often on the edge of "rage" when picking up his mail, says postmaster.

Eric Tallekpallek, 22, accepted responsibility for the July 2016 crime and released soon after March 1 sentencing. Judge orders 5 years of probation with 39 months of suspended jail time.

Neil Ryan Nelson, 29, arrested for assault and trespassing after allegedly entering the home of a 67-year-old in Aleknagik early Sunday morning.

Mary Tilden pleaded guilty to felony failure to stop at the direction of a police officer, as well as theft and trespassing at a Wednesday hearing.

Justin Forbes has been on the lam since Saturday night, when he escaped from the Togiak jail. Alaska State Troopers found him hiding in a crawl space in a victim's bedroom today.

No major injuries reported, but driver blamed for crash quickly fled the scene. DPD is investigating.

Search continues for Justin Forbes, 27, who escaped Togiak jail following an arrest for domestic violence assault.

Lindsay H. Sifsof, 26, was arrested after police say she admitted to drinking vodka for several hours before driving from Aleknagik to Dillingham, a trip that prompted REDDI calls from other drivers.

Joe Hiratsuka, 81, Thomas Hiratsuka, 58, and Katherine Nielsen, 48, ran out of fuel on snowmachine trip from Dillingham to Koliganek. They were found by AWT helicopter search Thursday morning in fine health.

KUCB, Unalaska: A small airplane landed on its belly Tuesday at the Unalaska airport. No one aboard was injured, but the accident shut down the runway for about four hours.

KDLG:  Donald P. Johnson, 23, pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge of attempted second degree theft and was sentenced to 60 days in jail. Johnson was one of five suspects charged in the theft of more than a dozen firearms from a Dillingham home in October.
