Napaskiak man picked up on rape charge

KDLG:  State troopers in Bethel say they found and arrested a dangerous man wanted on several charges, including attempted first degree sexual assault.

42-year-old Wilson Beaver of Napaskiak, a registered sex offender, allegedly broke into a home in the village and put a knife to a woman’s home in exchange for sex. Troopers say the woman was able to escape but was injured. This happened on August 15, and Beaver disappeared until Sunday, when he was arrested in Atmauluak without incident.

He was transported to Bethel for arrest and arraignment.

Christian A Young, 24, of Anchorage, is wanted on a robbery charge and suspected of trafficking heroin into Bristol Bay.


Saturday, 10 a.m.:  DPD and AST have not been able to apprehend Christian A. Young, a known heroin dealer from Anchorage, who fled capture on foot Friday afternoon.


Five dead after RAVN Cessna Caravan and Renfro's Super Cub crashed outside of Russian Mission Wednesday.

KDLG:  State wildlife troopers say they contacted a pair of hunters Wednesday as they were returning from a trip up the Nushagak River.

Austin Waldron, 22, of Manokotak was cited for the "unlawful" taking of a cow moose. For residents in August, GMU 17C is open to hunting any antlered bull. Waldron was also ticketed for hunting without a license.

Waldron's hunting partner John Einhellig, 29, of Dillingham was cited for not displaying registration numbers on his skiff.

An arraignment is scheduled later this month at the Dillingham court.
